Agriculture | The people of Texas and Cuba both love good "flea markets". Flea markets in Cuba are best organized in Havana and Santiago de Cuba, the two largest cities in Cuba. In Havana, there are four areas of the City where people display their items for sale:(1) Plaza de Armas for old books, maps, photos, and collectibles, (2) Tacon Street crafts and art market. Tacon Street is 1 1/2 blocks Northeast of the Cathedral of Havana. (3) Calle 23 (La Rampa) art and craft market a few blocks North of the Habana Libre Hotel and (4) Feria artisans' market on the Malecon about 3 blocks West of the Monumento Calixto Garcia or 6 blocks East of Hotel Riviera. In Santiago de Cuba, crafts and art can easily be found East of Parque Cespedes on Calle Heredia. Outside Santiago de Cuba, the rural village of El Oasis is well known for its availability of local art and crafts. |
